Get to Know Dr. Shandy Condie
Dr. Condie loves being able to make a difference in how people see themselves by improving their smiles. Patients often come in afraid, but when they leave, they feel so much better about their experience than they expected, and she enjoys being able to change their opinions so positively. More than anything, she loves getting to know her patients and making them feel special! She has been doing so for over 20 years, and she can’t wait to welcome you and your loved ones into our dental office.
Shandy S. Condie, DDS
Why did you decide to become a dentist?
Dr. Condie always knew that she wanted to work in the healthcare field, so after college and graduate school, she had a choice to make: to pursue medicine or dentistry. She knew she wanted to be able to have regular work hours and plenty of time to spend with her family, so she ultimately decided on dentistry. Looking back, she couldn’t be happier with how her life has turned out.
Where did you study dentistry?
Dr. Condie first earned her B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross before moving on to achieve her M.S. in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts and her D.D.S. from the Creighton School of Dentistry. She spent valuable time working as a dentist in both Illinois and Wisconsin before relocating to Arizona, where she opened Desert Springs Dental in December of 2005. She has also trained at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), completing courses focused on cosmetic, restorative, and neuromuscular dentistry. Today, she is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Arizona Dental Association. She is also a Silver Level Invisalign provider and still takes several hours of continuing education every year.
What do you like to do outside of the dental office?
Dr. Condie is originally from Topeka, KS, but she has lived all over the world, including Africa, Japan, the Philippines, and Germany. She is married and has four sons who keep her and her husband very busy. When she’s not working, she loves watching her kids play sports (especially basketball and football), biking, and traveling with the family.
